What a night.
We could not believe what we were seeing from the stage.
The show started @ 9pm after Shabbat.
We don’t have it and we were worried who would show up at this late at night.
When we got there for sound check the place was quiet but when we came back to the stage on time…
wow the venue was filled with people.
We had even more people than yesterday.
So many of them came back bringing their family or friends saying “I saw you yesterday. You guys were so great and I brought my family/friends!”
Even while walking from the green room to the stage right before the show, many people came up to us and tried to tell us how they are excited about HEAVENESE.
The first station was filled with expectations.
When the band appeared on stage there was a big hand. And the vocals came on stage on the band play even bigger applause was given.
The audience responded enthusiastically to each song and the massage Marre gave.
And at the end of the show there was a thunderous applause.
People seemed that they did not want to leave.
”Thank you for coming to Israel” they told us in unison.
No!we want to thank you for showing such love toward us.
Tonight we had Idan Raichel in the audience.
We met each other only 2 weeks ago through Israeli Embassy of Japan.
Yesterday we sang his song Out of the depths and people liked it.
Tonight Idan himself came to hear us.
He really liked the arrangement and the sound of the Japanese traditional instrument and groove.
We might record it with him.
It was an awesome night.
We will never forget this day.
We believe it is only a beginning.
No matter how politics get crazy, no matter how the surrounding circumstances get rough, we believe music and heart go beyond.
We are all the same human being after all, if we keep believing the love holding onto the hope never fading, we can become one in the spirit and live in peace.
And one day we will all be in heaven where we can find rest and we will all be speaking Japanese!

ジャパンウイーク最終日の大トリをつとめさせていただきました。
安息日明けの夜９時スタートとうい遅い時間なので、人がくるのか不安だったのですが、ふたを開けてみたら、なんと前日を上回る人で会場はあふれ、ものすごい熱気と期待のエネルギーで満ちていました。

「昨日来たけど、素晴らしかったから家族をつれて来た」とか「友達をつれて来た」と言う人々が沢山いて、ステージから控え室に歩く短い距離の間も、多くの人が駆け寄って来て写真を求めたり、話しかけて来たり、まるで、大スターを迎えるような熱狂ぶりなのです。

いつものオープニング音楽が流れ、まず初めてにバンドがステージに登場すると会場から割れんばかりの拍手。そして、いよいよボーカルがステージに登場したときの大きな拍手は、本当にまるでイスラエルのポップスターのような錯覚に陥ってしまったほどでした。

音楽の全てに、笑顔で応答し、Marreが語る一言一言にも拍手で答えます。
HEAVENESEは、初めてエルサレムで公演している全くの無名のグループで、殆どの人が初めてのはずなのに、なぜか会場は一致と調和のある圧倒的な一体感に包まれていました。

予定どおりの曲をやり終わっても、スタンディングオベーションとアンコールの拍手がなりやまず、昨日はやらなかったTell Everybodyを追加してHEAVENESEのエルサレム公演は終了しました。

人々はメンバーに駆け寄り、口々にコンサートの「素晴らしかった」「あなたたちの心が伝わった」「日本の心が響いた」「本当に来てくれてありがとう」と興奮して話しかけて来てくれました。

昨日に引き続き、今日もイスラエルのスーパースター「イダン・ラハエル」のヒット曲をHEAVENESEバージョンでやりました。
Out of the depths という曲で、こちらでは知らない人がいない、一番有名な曲の一つです。
そして会場にはイダン本人も駆けつけてくれ、HEAVENESEスピリットで演奏された自分の曲に感銘してくれ、この曲を一緒にレコーディングしようという流れになりました。急遽、こちらにいる間にやることになりそうです。

ガザ地区との戦争が終わって、初めての海外アーティストがHESVENESEだったということで、わざわざそんなときに来てくれた、ということが、大きな感謝の渦となっているという側面もあるようです。
そんな、時期にHEASVENESEが「和を以て尊しとなす」という日本精神のメッセージを携えてやってきて、そのメッセージが、日本の伝統とコスチュームと演出の全てとの融合の中で発せられたことで、戦争は終わったのに、数日前テロによる死傷者が出たばかりのエルサレムの人々の心はスポンジのように平和を求めていた人々の心に、まるでスポンジのようにしみ込んでいったのだと実感しました。

今回ほど、HEAVENESEは平和の使節であることを実感したことはありません。
エルサレム、ありがとう。平安の都に、文字どおり平和が訪れるように！ —
